Lucy Cheong nominated for the International Dance Teacher’s Association Theatre Awards

Lucy Cheong, Year 10, has been nominated for the International Dance Teacher’s Association Theatre Awards.

Lucy was chosen to compete by dance examiners due to her outstanding performance of in her Grade Five ballet exam.
The Gillian Garvey School of Dance student will compete against students from all over the world, who have achieved high standard performances in dance.
She will attend the awards ceremony held at The Northern College of Music in Manchester in February next year.
Beginning dancing at the tender age of two, Lucy practices various styles of dance up to six times per week and is the third time that Lucy has been nominated for the prestigious award.
Lucy also recently attended a summer school at the prestigious Hammond School Summer School in Chester, where teachers expressed keen interest for Lucy to pursue her ballet skills further.
